Three Days on Yangtze River
—Remembrance No. 39

On the first day, fog, I put hands on ship’s rail, as I was rowing to a pond of picking lotus
Further the richness of the water forced to me so I’m hazy like bumps, like love of dizziness

Like wide alley and narrow alley, on two river sides apes cried none stop, strange waves
Let river wind blowing, boat keep silence, even I didn’t want to speak, as if I was surging by oceans

On the second day, as Baidi Town’s sinking, I didn’t remember Wei’s orphan successor
I climbed up by wings of rock eagle and wanted to deal fantastic spirits with the stars

In daydreams, I couldn’t express the correct voyage, as the poetry I’d read
In short and long, in sunset and waves, wrong sentences of Small Three Gorges I modified

On the third day, I confused an inexplicable happiness, wind through ears, clean fragrance drifting on boat
Looking back rainbow hanging, loneliness, love of the forest, unrequited love I was glad in heart

Ignored helmsman’s discouragement, I stretched out my hands to the sky, behind countryside, grass, turtle doves
Wildflower blooming in squeaky sound while my rush was unable to retain the fluttering birds’ songs

Mandarin Ducks Are Restrained
—Remembrance No. 40

The so-called mandarin ducks are unwilling to meet, don’t want to gather, can fly, don’t fly
Don’t want to be disturbed, and inhabit ponds, lakes, just a pair of pocket-size wild ducks
Scientific name bright spots crown duck are close on Western Hemisphere to forest ducks
Smaller than wild ducks, handsome than cormorant, male called Yuan and female Yang
There’re wings to fly, there’re truly enduring beauty, there’re the loyalty in faith forever
Drinking dew, biting ring grass they may forget themselves in lakes and rivers
Looking in mirror, remembering the romantics, their graceful images in mist-covered waters
Thirty-six Mandarin Ducks Scholar Beauties
One only loves her only lover till death
