About Sophy Chen

Sophy Chen, Lihua Chen, born in Lueyang, Hanzhong, Shannxi Province, China, is the Chinese contemporary poet, translator, publisher and world poetry manager. She graduated from English Institute of Xi’an International Studies University in English Literature. She is the founder of Sophy Chen World Poetry Awards, the President of Sophy International Translation Publishing House, Sophy Chen World Poetry Museum, the Chief Editor and Translator of Sophy Chen’s Translation World Poetry Yearbook (C-E Bilingual), Sophy Poetry & Translation(C-E) World Poetry Paper Magazine, and Sophy Poetry & World Translation Websites. swaying alone hanging along the edge of the cliff
dancing against those thunderous stormy winds
pulling-slowly one by one every petal every sepal

beautiful
as i look at the flower
grown underneath a turbulent ocean
in those unending restless waves
waves waves punching and spinning wildly along the shores
crushing-slowly one by one every petal every sepal

beautiful
as i look at the flower
remain standing in those shaky mountain slopes
in the midst of those rushing heavy-lava-laden rolling debris
boiling exploding swallowing without-mercy
melting-slowly one by one every petal every sepal

beautiful
as i look at the flower

yet remain fixed gazing towards the birth of a new sun
trembling yet remain singing under those creepy dark clouds
of undulating darkness struck by horrifying lightning
burning-slowly one by one every petal every sepal

beautiful
as i look at the flower
in the middle of the unforgiving desert under those extremes
cruel unbearable heat crippling its peduncle to kneel
fracturing its receptacle to bow tearing its roots to crawl
suck-dead-dry-slowly one by one every petal every sepal

Sophy Chen, her name, Lihua and family name, Chen, born in Lueyang, Hanzhong, Shannxi Provinve, China, is the Chinese contemporary poetess, translator, and American English “Legendary Poet”. She is the founder of “Sophy Poetry & Translation Website”, “Sophy Poetry & Translation” International Magazine and “Sophy International Translation Publishing House” and the founder and leading lecturer of “Sophy English Forum”. She graduated from English Institute of Xian Foreign Studies University in English Literature. She began to write Chinese poetry in 1989 and English poetry in 2004, and she began to translate Chinese Poetry into English poetry and English poetry into Chinese poetry in 2005. About Shailesh Veer

Dr. Shailesh Veer, born in Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, is an Indian poet. He is also a poetry reviewer and poetry communicator. He is a bilingual, writes in English & Hindi both. He has a PhD in Archaeology. By profession he is a teacher. He has edited more than half a dozen poetry books & several magazines time to time. His poetry has been published in various literary magazines, journals, anthologies and websites. He has won many awards in poetry. He has participated in many national and international seminars and fests.

苏菲（Sophy Chen），本名陈丽华，中国当代女诗人、翻译家。出生于陕西汉中略阳县；毕业于西安外国语大学英文学院。美国英语“传奇诗人”。 “苏菲诗歌&翻译网”、“苏菲诗歌&翻译”(英汉双语）国际杂志社、“苏菲国际翻译出版社”创建人。“苏菲英语讲坛”创办者兼主讲人。 1989年，开始汉语诗歌写作、2004年开始英语诗歌写作、2005年开始英汉双语诗歌翻译。获2012年度“国际最佳翻译家奖”（评选语言英汉双语）。“中国当代诗歌奖”（2013—2014）翻译奖（评选语言英汉双语）。获2018年 PENTASI B 世界杰出诗人提名奖（评选语言英语）。翻译出版英译诗歌集六部：《花动摇》、《藏香》、《生之瞭望》、《异调》、《胴体向前》、《白娘子诗传》。英语诗歌原创集，“苏菲英语十四行诗”《晚香玉》，仅仅8首诗，电子书在美国亚马逊英语图书网出版。

Sophy Chen, her name, Lihua and family name, Chen, born in Lueyang, Hanzhong, Shannxi Provinve, China, is the Chinese contemporary poetess, translator, and American English “Legendary Poet”. She is the founder of “Sophy Poetry & Translation Website”, “Sophy Poetry & Translation” International Magazine and “Sophy International Translation Publishing House” and the founder and leading lecturer of “Sophy English Forum”. She graduated from English Institute of Xian Foreign Studies University in English Literature. She began to write Chinese poetry in 1989 and English poetry in 2004, and she began to translate Chinese Poetry into English poetry and English poetry into Chinese poetry in 2005. She won the annual “International Best Translator” Award 2012(C-E)and the Chinese Contemporary Poetry (2013-2014) Translation Award(C-E). PENTASI B World Featured Poet 2018(E-E) She translated and published six Chinese poetry collections into English, The Flower Swaying (2014) , The Tibetan Incense(2014), The Outlook of Life (2014), The Different Tunes (2014), The Body Forward (2015), and A Poetry Biography for White Snake (2015), etc. Her English original poetry collection, Sophy English Sonnets, Tuberose, only 8 poems, published in Amazon in E-book.

beautiful
as i look at the flower
so delicate so fragrant so soft
swaying alone hanging along the edge of the cliff
dancing against those thunderous stormy winds
pulling-slowly one by one every petal every sepal

beautiful
as i look at the flower
grown underneath a turbulent ocean
in those unending restless waves
waves waves punching and spinning wildly along the shores
crushing-slowly one by one every petal every sepal

beautiful
as i look at the flower
remain standing in those shaky mountain slopes
in the midst of those rushing heavy-lava-laden rolling debris
boiling exploding swallowing without-mercy
melting-slowly one by one every petal every sepal

beautiful
as i look at the flower

yet remain fixed gazing towards the birth of a new sun
trembling yet remain singing under those creepy dark clouds
of undulating darkness struck by horrifying lightning
burning-slowly one by one every petal every sepal

beautiful
as i look at the flower
in the middle of the unforgiving desert under those extremes
cruel unbearable heat crippling its peduncle to kneel
fracturing its receptacle to bow tearing its roots to crawl
suck-dead-dry-slowly one by one every petal every sepal

finally
you submit faithfully
to your fate without a complaint
& in your last station your seeds grow
near the marble bed of your Master

yes.

当我看见它
如此娇嫩如此芬芳如此柔软
悬挂在悬崖边孤独的摇摆
在那雷鸣般的风浪中跳舞
慢慢的拉动一瓣一瓣每一片花瓣每一片萼片

美
当我看见它
在汹涌澎湃的海洋下生长
在那些无休止的无休止的浪潮中
浪花浪花冲击疯狂的旋转沿着海岸
被压碎-慢慢地一瓣一瓣每一片花瓣每一片萼片

美
当我看见它
依然站在那些摇摇欲坠的山坡上
在那些汹涌沉重的-熔岩中-装载滚滚的残骸
沸腾爆炸吞噬着残暴无情
融化-慢慢地一瓣一瓣每一片花瓣每一片萼片

美
当我看见它

然而它总是一动不动凝视着太阳新的诞生
颤抖着，却依然歌唱在这些令人毛骨悚然的乌云下
在波涛汹涌的黑暗里，它被可怕的闪电击中
渐渐地燃烧-慢慢地一瓣一瓣每一片花瓣每一片萼片

美
当我看见它
在那些极端无情的沙漠中，在那些极端条件下
残酷的难以承受的热量削弱了它的花梗使它下跪
压碎了它的花托，使它折腰使它翘起根部爬行

最后
你忠实地服从
自己的命运，没有任何怨言
在自己最后一站，你的种子生长

so i can enter the moon
and see what’s beneath the star

yes i come to you

with my dirty hands and broken wings
for i can offer no riches i can hold in my hands
except these thousand keys i found
in the rubbles covered by my own blood and my own ashes
in those thousand thousand thousand years of my own imperfections

yes i come to you

to preserve those rubbles of my imperfections
and use these thousand keys i found
so we can breed new pearls in the sands
of those remaining undiscovered untainted zillion stars
together we can see new lights to fly and glide
to sing and dance to laugh and smile
to grow and glow in all of the heavens

held at the National Museum of The Philippines, composed of international panel of Doctors in Arts and in Literature, Poets Laureates, Published Authors, Professors, visual artists, and students had steered to unearth the mysteries behind his magnum opus, convened, adjudged and re-affirmed Doc Penpen as The Father of Visual Poetry.

at the National Library of The Philippines, 2011;
The PENTASI B, 3-Volume, Collectors Edition, auctioned at USD 30,000

were donated to the poverty-stricken Filipino students;

About Anna Banasiak
Anna Banasiak is a poet and literary critic from Lodz, Poland. She studied Polish Philology and Culture Studies at the University of Warsaw. She studied Polish philology and culture studies at the University of Warsaw. She is the winner of poetry competitions in Berlin, London and Bratislava. Her poems have appeared in New York, London, Surrey, Australia, Canada, India and South Africa. (some of them have appeared in books and some in poetry journals).

Sophy Chen, her name, Lihua and family name, Chen, is the Chinese contemporary poetess, translator, and American English “Legendary Poet”. She is the founder of “Sophy Poetry & Translation Website”, “Sophy Poetry & Translation” Magazine and “Sophy International Translation Publishing House”. She is the founder and leading lecturer of “Sophy English Forum”.She graduated from English Institute of Xian Foreign Studies University in English Literature.
She won the annual “International Best Translator” Award 2012 and the Chinese Contemporary Poetry (2013-2014) Translation Award.
She translated and published six Chinese poetry collections into English, The Flower Swaying (2014) , The Tibetan Incense(2014), The Outlook of Life (2014), The Different Tunes (2014), The Body Forward (2015), and A Poetry Biography for White Snake (2015), etc.

[Turkey] Dilek Değerli

When the Cloud Perched to Mountain

At the lake time of swans
whiteness glided slenderly
from piano’s keys.
In the morning’s catching fire lights
there was a tepid smoky movement
and a season of pouring fire.
Colorfull colts were falling
on me from the picture of ceiling.

The wind which could’nt perch to the mountain
gived up blowing
it found white keys
on the attic of the city, took sol*
and put it on my heart,
white sol became black like sharp,
wet eyed wounded colt
which could’nt fall from the ceiling.

When the cloud perched to mountain
on the late evening, the light of music shined
in the depths of the lake,
I saw all the colors on the swan.
At the end, black colt falled into my room
the wind began to blow
at the fragile of fall inside me.
As if pulse of time stop
with a scent of spring which was going mad.
the stone wall of sadness falled down.
When the sky entered inside of me
my pale window have filled with butterflies.

《当云朵栖息在山上》

这个季节的湖面，天鹅
洁白，细长地，滑翔
从钢琴的键盘上
清晨烈焰般的灯光里
冒着一股微温的烟
季节浇铸的火焰
小马队，花花绿绿，从天花板
纷纷陷落，飘落在我身上

无法栖息在山上的风
不再期待吹拂
在城市的阁楼上，它发现了
洁白的琴键，奏起了第五乐章*
将它倾入我心
当这乐章，变黑，犹如受伤的小马
锐利的眼睛，噙着泪水
无法从天花板上脱落

当云朵栖息在山上
后半夜，轻音乐闪烁
深深的湖水里
我看见所有色彩集聚在天鹅身上
最后，黑色小马，掉进我的房间
风开始吹拂
轻轻地降落在我内心
仿若时间的脉搏停止跳动
带着一丝，疯狂的，春的气息
忧伤的石墙，倒了
当琴键倾入我心
我苍白的窗，爬满了蝴蝶

The Sommelier Says

The wine is “light but complex,”
as the table of four sit back
and swap smiles
around a bottle of best red —
in this polished tavern fronting
a grand avenue.

Then he, smart suit and a slight bow,
praises the valley, the region, and the year
when the damp of April
extended into May, joined with
arid June and parched July
to generate the sweetest grapes —
“light but complex.”

The diners sip and smile again,
having put to sleep the threat of riots.
The image of a mangled throat in the back alley
is obscured by the rhythm of the servers,
as they glide lightly by each table —
the complexity well-hidden within their grace.

就像四个人倚桌而坐
围着一瓶上好的红酒——
相视而笑

面对奢华的大街

Yasrab
(In the memory of a daughter buried alive in Pre-Islamic times.)

O! Father where are we going to? Bazaar!
What will you buy for me?
Doll, toys and a string of pearls!
Right!
I shall put on a string of white pearls
On my blue costume,
And shall return before the evening befalls.

Father! The shadows make me appalled,
Mother said, “Come back before the darkness prevails.”
Father! Would you take me back along?
”Yes! Will go back,” the father answered.
The girl was little,
But cumbersome were her apprehensions
Of darkness and shadows.

A thought to go back to mother,
Affection of the younger brother, everything she was recalling.
“Father never showed affection before this day,
How he took along me to buy a doll and a string of pearls,
All assurances of father are false and intention mala-fide,
“There dwell serpents of hatred of in his heart,” she said to herself.
But the world whispered to him, “The daughter is a spot
Of disgrace and one becomes downcast.”

How meager were the demands of the girl of six!
How many sons her two brothers had!
Yes; the same sons, heirs of the heredity,
Who enhance grandeur;
They enable a father to walk with high head.
Though he had nine sons,
Yet one daughter made his nights sleepless.

All times she had been saying, “My good father!
Swing me on the arms; bring me a string of pearls.”
She always complained to her father,
“Why am I not an apple of your eyes?
Why don’t you have affection for me?”
“I am all alone why mother remains annoyed
And brothers irritated too.
Though we live in the same house yet no one cares for me.”

(When shadows began to merge the father and the daughter stopped over a spot and she became afraid.)
“This is not a bazaar,
Everywhere surrounds inhibited wilderness,
With no human being.
O! Father what you are doing.
Have you concealed some treasure in sand of the desert?
Yes; I have to find my diamonds,
My pearls, my gold and prestige to live life with splendour.
O! Father I am thirsty, we have travelled a long way,
Let’s go back home without loss of more time.”

Father said, “Now you will have to remain here forever!”
“This is a wasteland; I will not live here,
I will go back to my mother,
I will play in the company of my brother,
He might be missing me,” the daughter said weeping.

The father dug a ditch with his own hands and said,
“I shall bring you here all things you yearn for,
Now you just lie in the ditch.”
The father began to bury his daughter,
The daughter wept, shrieked, shouted in agony,
“Father you promised to bring me a doll from the bazaar,
A string of pearls, dress, father what you have done!
Inside is dismal dark, let me come out,
I shall demand from you nothing.
I promise to you, I am being stifled inside here.
Father! Mom said to return before the night falls,
Let me go home you will never find me out,
My good father! I shall never tease you,
My promise, for the sake of God let me come out,
Inside I shall die, at last I am your daughter,
Just see my face once. Will you never remember me?”

Alas! Her weeping and wailing subdued in the grave,
But father’s heart did not soften,
In the depth of ditch, and loneliness of the desert
He buried his daughter with his own hands
And he returned with a high head and splendid walk
But silences bemoaned and bewailed behind,
And now bewailing voices are buried
Beneath the layers of fifteen centuries.

啊!爸爸我们要去哪里? 集市!
你会买什么给我？
布娃娃、玩具、还是一串珍珠！
对！
我会带上这串白珍珠
穿上蓝色的戏服
我会在夜幕降临之前回来

爸爸！阴影让我感到厌恶
妈妈说：“在夜黑降临之前回来”
爸爸！你会带我一起回去吗？
“是的！会回去，”父亲回答说。
女孩虽然很小，
但她无法排解
忧虑的黑暗和阴影。

她想回到妈妈身边，
想可爱的弟弟，想过去发生的一切。
“在这之前，爸爸从未对自己表达如此的爱意，
他怎么会带我一起去买布娃娃、珍珠项链，
爸爸的所有承诺都没有实现过，没有半点诚信的意思
“有一条仇恨的巨蛇盘踞在他的心脏里，”她自语道。
但是世界低声对他说，“女儿是耻辱的污点
让人沮丧蒙羞。”

六岁小女孩的需求是多么的微不足道！
她的两个哥哥生了几个儿子！
是的；一样的儿子，遗传的继承人，
他们提升了高贵和尊严；
他们让一个父亲抬得起头。
虽说父亲有九个儿子，
然而，一个女儿让他夜不成寐。

她总是一直在说，“我的好爸爸！
把我抱在怀里晃晃；给我买一串珍珠。”
她总是抱怨爸爸，
“为什么我不是你的掌上明珠？
你为什么不爱我？”
我很孤独，为什么妈妈仍然对我很恼火
哥哥们对我也很恼怒。
虽然我们同处一室可没有人关心我。”

（当阴影开始吞没父亲，女儿在一个黑点上停下来，她感到害怕。）
“这不是集市，
无尽的荒野笼罩四野，
了无人烟
噢！爸爸你在干什么。
你在沙漠中埋藏了一些宝藏吗？
是的，我必须找到我的钻石，
我的珍珠、我的黄金、我生活的威望、我生命的辉煌。
噢！爸爸，我渴了，我们已经走过了漫长的道路，
我们回家，没有太多的时间可以消磨了。”

父亲说，“现在，你不得不永远留在这里了！”
“这是一片荒原；我不想生活在这里，
我要回去找妈妈，
我要陪哥哥一起玩，
他应该会想念我，”女儿边说边哭。

父亲亲手刨了一个壕沟，说，
“我会把你渴望得到的所有东西带到这里给你，
现在，你就躺在这个沟里。”
父亲开始埋葬自己的女儿，
女儿哭着、尖叫着、痛苦的呐喊着，
“爸爸，你答应我要在市场上买个布娃娃给我，
一串珍珠项链、一条裙子、爸爸，你都做到了些什么！
沟里又阴又暗，让我出来，
我再不会向你要任何东西。
我祈求你，我快要在这里，窒息死了。
爸爸！妈妈说夜幕降临之前要回家，
让我回家，你再也见不到我走出家门，
我的好爸爸！我再也不会强求你什么，
我发誓，看在上帝的面上，让我出来，
在这里面，我会死的，我是你的女儿，最后，
再看看我的脸吧。你再也不记得我了吗？”

唉！她的哭泣、她的喪歌，在坟墓里逐渐减弱，
但是父亲的心始终没有软，
在壕沟的深处、在寂寥的荒漠
父亲用自己的双手埋葬了自己的女儿
他昂起头回到家，步伐矫健笑容满面
可是身后是沉闷的叹息、默默的哀叹
而现在这痛苦的声音就埋葬在
十五世纪的地层之下。

Tired Ship

Window was opened to indoors
the night was a black swan

Tired of melancholy she silenced
the silence of her eyes,
the spider which waked up
damaged its net.

Lost times were crying
outside of the window.

The ship stood out to butterfly sea
absorbing the night to her eyes,
her hair flew to the darkness
with the sound of dancing waves.

The strings of life was going
seperately in water way.

As it was getting wet
the cold wound was a shadow
that was curling to its inside.

Anymore the ship only wants to stop
to make waves tired
and to be a crocodile made of rock
in the tongue of night, somewhat acrid.

窗子一直开到舱内
夜晚是只黑天鹅

她沉默不语，厌倦了悲哀
沉默的余光里
一只蜘蛛突然醒来

航船在海里蝶泳
把整个夜晚纳入眼底
秀发飘舞在漆黑的夜里
海浪声声舞蹈

生活之弦已奏响
在水路里，分离

就像此弦，渐渐被打湿
冰冷的伤口是个幻影
正向体内卷缩

这艘船，不想再航行，只想停下来
让浪花疲惫
做一条石头鳄鱼
在夜晚的舌尖上，有点，辛辣
