ZDENKO ĆURKOVIĆ, born in 1960 in Croatia, nominated for the world prize Rahim Karim, “Pablo Neruda” and “Grand Cross of the Order of Cultural and Literary Independence of Maria Rosa Parra”, is the author of the poetry collections: “Fish swim in their mouths” and “Caries of time”. His translated poems are selected in “Sophy Chen’s Translation · World Poetry Yearbook 20222023”(C-E Bilingual) ,etc.

兹登科·库尔科维克1960年出生于克罗地亚。曾获得拉希姆·卡里姆、“巴勃罗·聂鲁达”和“玛丽亚·罗莎·帕拉文化、文学、独立大十字勋章等世界奖。著有诗集《鱼在嘴里游》和《时间的寄生虫》。被翻译诗歌入选《苏菲译·世界诗歌年鉴20222023》(汉英对照)等。

THE THIRTY-THIRD SPRING

 

Under the roof... of my youthful longings,
of love and mud - swallows are a nest of silk,
on heavenly fertile fields of insatiable desire,
I sowed the violet seed - by the whisper of the good fairy.

Seasons alternated - spring, summer, autumn, winter,
the swallows were coming and going, and I was... swept up in a blizzard of anxiety.
In love, the frozen verses echoed ... without rhythm, without rhyme,
the icy seed of the viola, it captured my soul with frost, it is the cause of anxiety.

That great energy of my longing and aspiration, apprehension and anxiety, which makes dreams come true
with the power of the seventh heaven, she lowered the Sun to the earth, and the violets bloomed -
the petals of the flowers of love with breeze landed on my frozen verses,
and chased away the winter foreboding with its enticing fragrance, oh ... those ... divine violas.
With the swallows from the south ... the thirty-third flew in ... my first spring.

燕子飞来飞去，而我……被焦虑的暴风雪席卷
爱情里，冰封的诗句回响着……没有节奏，没有韵律
中提琴冰冷的种子，用冰霜俘获了我的灵魂，它是焦虑的根源

那是我的热望、渴望、忧虑、焦虑的巨大能量，它让我梦想成真
它用七重天的力量把太阳降到地面上，紫罗兰也开了花
爱之花的花瓣随着微风落在我结冰的诗句上
用那诱人的芬芳赶走了冬天的不祥，哦……那些……神圣的中提琴
和南方飞来的燕子一起……第三十三次飞进……我的第一个春天

SNOW

 

Snow falls over the mountains,
it arranges tales in the day.
Wolves hide in the woods,
they are looking for space and food.
Hurried snowflakes
lay down on the gray road.
Songbirds have flocked wild refrains
among the trees.
White snowflakes fly,
they twist in a circle, they fly
and make shaggy hairs,
they hide bushes in a secret corner.

Cao Tian, born in Lankao in 1968, is a high school poet of the 1980s, a marketeer in the 1990s, a member of the Chinese Writers Association, the first president of the Asian Poets and Artists Union, and a doctor of law. He has published more than ten books such as “Love Letters to the Human World” and he is known as the “Yesenin of China” and his translated poems are selected in “Sophy Chen’s Translation · World Poetry Yearbook 202120222023”(C-E Bilingual),etc.

土豆出土记

 

一粒土豆，来自贫贱和卑微
一把生锈的锄头，一双粗糙的大手
把它从低处举向高处，从幕后推到前台

土豆泥土取暖，雨水解渴
以阳光和空气充饥
望见树上苹果和梨的笑容，不嫉妒，不攀比
看到脚下的蚯蚓和蚂蚁，握手言欢

外面的世界很精彩
土豆华丽转身，改称洋芋，网名马铃薯
外面的世界很无奈
土豆一肥二胖，营养过剩
计划减肥，把自己一分为二
一半还给土豆，一半交与洋芋

改名之前，土豆也不叫土豆
是被黑暗欺负的小茎块、小土块、小石块
小可怜，是黑暗臆想的敌人
成吨成吨的黑暗打压它，排挤它

A Story of a Potato Grows out of Earth

 

A potato, poor and humble
A rusty hoe, a pair of rough hands
Lifts him from the low to the high, and pushes him from the background to the foreground

The potato warms him with mud, and quenches his thirst with rain
Feeds him by sunshine and air
Seeing the smile of apples and pears on the tree, he’s not jealous to compare
Seeing earthworms and ants under his feet, he shakes hands with them

The outside world is so wonderful
The potato gorgeously turns around, renames him as yams, the net name potato
The outside world is so helpless
The potato is fat and over-nourished
He plans to lose weight and splits himself in two parts
He gives a half of him to potatoes and a half of him to yams

Before his name was changed, he was not called the potato
And called a little stalk, a little clods of dirt, and a little rocks bullied by the darkness
The poor little thing, an imagined enemy of the darkness
Tons of darkness pushing him down, and crowding him out
His body and mind have been twisted again and again, and he finally retreated in a corner
Clenching his little fists
He fights to the death
To put a big hole in the sky

晨雾遮挡了山峦
却被一缕阳光剪开
一排杂木林跟风嘻嘻哈哈
惊起了鸟儿的安眠

湖水像梦中的母亲
轻轻拍着铺满鹅卵石的湖岸
水草摇曳着浅绿色的茎叶
音乐在那里隐约上传

叮咚叮咚温柔舒缓
焦虑烦恼都留在昨天
捡起一片心形的小石子
清凉着生命里的那些不安

恰好有一片白云
在湖面上倒映成白莲
恰好有一束光
像洞察一切的天眼

有小小的果实藏在叶子里
有火山蒸腾着水汽弥漫
有鸟儿唧唧喳喳地引路
有梅花鹿侧身而过的悄然

还有那个神秘的水藻玛丽魔

A row of miscellaneous trees merrily are following the wind
To awaken the bird’s sleep

The lake is like my mother in my dream
Patting shore of lake full of the cobblestones
The water plants are waving their pale green stems and leaves
Music is faintly uploaded there

Ding-dong ding-dong, gentle and soothing
To leave all of my worries to yesterday
I picked up a small heart-shaped stone
To cool the restlessness of my life

There happened to be a white cloud
To reflect as white lotus on the lake
There just happened to be a ray of light
As the eye of heaven that can see everything

There are little fruits hidden in the leaves
There’s a volcano bubbling with water vapor
There are birds chirping to lead the way
There is a sika deer sidling by quietly

And that mysterious algae Mary Demon
Shows her dreamy round face
Little fishes play and little shrimps bounce
The breeze ruffles the clear lake

In my stumbling life
There are not many times to be moved like this
I just keep a sigh in my heart

The Eternity became frightened by the pain of breaking dreams
The heart-river stops stop
The gloomy clouds in the chest of the sky

Walking the salty path
Tired, the body of the sailor
Listening to the comedy, the world goes back to sleep
Blood-stained border thorns see in the dreams;
The Hanging body of the helpless Felani. 

The mighty blue cloud whales still hover
With great excitement — across the wide horizon

And comes out from the dark soil
The sigh of Sagar-Runi
Still dewy wet eyes
Seeing; the order of disorderly investigation.

The wide hand of the desired moon is said to touch
Even today, the weary traveler returns crying!

In Bangladesh it is soft winter  
Curiosity appears to enjoy winter 
In the rainy season
I prefer to live in town
In winter the village calls me
To walk dried mud way
To see beauties of the nature 
To bathe in the clean river water
To eat fresh vegetables and fish
To drink date juice 
Soon I shall go to village 
Beloved poetess will accompany me
We shall turn around the village

Dazang Chen, real name Chen Jianrong, a Chinese contemporary poet, poetry critic and a world poetry communicator. A photo represents my soul has floated here once, as if a curtain 
Of love set off again. Hope has created it and forged again
A sighing more far. Now, you come to say goodbye again, as if
It’s not that i say good-bye to you. After a few days of travel, a white horse 
Walks into the vastness alone, and let the curtain of fate opening and closing in the wind.

This is Bayan in midsummer. Corn field in north is large and the steamed bread is in hot love, Where’s the village in heavy snow and what’s the color of the future under the warm letter note?
Love is too late to sculpt her face, and the home that has been dreaming for too long, Will  hurt  me  as  it  pass  through  my  mind.  Finally, the  silence  drowned The passing and going tricycles and whistles of train — that moment of hesitation.

The broken glass seems to show the background that remains hereafter, or 
Episode-like memories. A small platform, how it can hold
A little life of confusion and alarm? Look, snowflakes are beginning to float, 
Our fate are destined to pass by at that moment ...

我一阵平滑的美式英语，调子平缓 
激起一阵小小的水波纹，他们的调子也随之 
变得轻缓；我一阵大波浪伦敦BBC 英语 
句子重音急速增强—— 
形容词、副词最重，名词、动词次之， 
代词、连词弱读，介词一般要吞音。 
他们特别贴心，似乎能听懂我的英语 
又似乎在模仿我——

The Song of Cicadas 

 

When I lived the upstairs, apart from the sound of wind and rain, 
It was just the crying of a group of kids, and parents yelling at their kids. 

Recently I was so lucky to move my room to the ground, surrounded by four windows and trees, 
Miraculously, I heard the song of cicadas, 
I read English, they read English too! 
I speak the smooth American English in a flat tone 
It creates a little ripple of water, and their tune followed 
To slow down; I have a big wave in London BBC English 
Sentence stress increases rapidly — 
Adjectives and adverbs are the most strong, followed by nouns and verbs. 
Pronouns, conjunctions are weak, and sounds of prepositions are usually swallowed. 
They are so sweet and seem to understand my English 
And seem to imitate me — 
I pause, they pause, I breathe, they breathe 
I make a dent in my words, they make a dent in their words too！ 
I read Hemingway’s English novel “The Old Man and the Sea.” 
Oh! They read this, too. I read it 50 times, I record it 50 times 
So do they, 50 times, inseparable, be always together!

仿佛擦拭过眼泪。倾盘大雨
正在忏悔它犯下的过错
无法洗刷干净的那个时代
尊严也屏住呼吸
避开太阳强光的枫叶
在秋风萧瑟的地面上翻卷
我瘦小的身影随着歪歪斜斜
我的启蒙老师苏先生，刚酿造完

I didn’t know there were weekends here. There was silence everywhere 
A gentle woman over sixty 
Was still wandering in the passage of the classroom on the second floor. In her hands 
A white towel was twisted and soaked in cold water 
As if it had wiped her tears. The pouring rain 
Was confessing its mistakes 
But it could not clean up that era 
The dignity held its breath too 
The maple leaves sheltered from the glare of the sun 
Were rolling on the cold autumn ground 
My thin figure skewed along with them 
My first teacher, Mr. Su, just had finished brewing 
The Spring Festival Reunion Wine. After that, I’ve remembered that 
He has never returned home 
The bad wine has become the nickname of others to disparage him

Sophy Chen, Lihua Chen, born in Lueyang, Hanzhong, Shannxi Province, China, is the Chinese contemporary poet, translator, publisher and world poetry manager. She graduated from English Institute of Xi'an International Studies University in English Literature. She is the founder of Sophy Chen World Poetry Awards, the President of Sophy International Translation Publishing House, Sophy Chen World Poetry Museum, the Chief Editor and Translator of Sophy Chen's Translation World Poetry Yearbook (C-E Bilingual), Sophy Poetry & Translation(C-E) World Poetry Paper Magazine, and Sophy Poetry & World Translation Websites. Sophy Chen is Admin Of PENTASI B World Friendship Poetry, a Member of the Translators Association of China, and a Member of the World Nations Writers Union, Kazakhstan. Sophy Chen is appointed as a Honorary Membership of PABLO NERUDA ASSOCIAZIONE CULTURALE and Jury Of “Il Parnaso - Angelo La Vecchia Award” of Italy.
